21 Ghosts & Magic: Houdini takes on Spiritualism

February 06, 2017

In the early 1920s, world renown escape artist and master magician, Harry Houdini, became obsessed with exposing seance-holding mediums as frauds and imposters, sometimes cancelling his own shows to attend their performances and debunk them. Who was Houdini and what drove him to discredit all who claimed they could speak with the dead? Find out in the biggest Timesuck so far!

Great stuff, Dan. Thanks for the efforts. You are well researched and have a great presentation style.
Coincidentally, I read The Witch of Lime Street a few months ago and it was quite interesting. My favorite thing about it was that Houdini would put on debunking shows where he would replicate pretty much anything a “medium” could pull off then show everyone how it’s done.
Keep it up, Dan. You rock.
